How Entrepreneur's Can Leverage Talent to Grow and Scale their Business

Leverage Talent to Grow & Scale Your Business in 2021

Kurt Wilkin

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve got a stack of partially read business books, blog posts, and magazine articles growing by the day. Most of the time, I pick up a book or magazine at the airport, swearing I’ll read it eventually…but it just gets added to the growing pile on my nightstand.  And most of the ones I do read, it feels like I’m reading a fantasy novel – nothing but rainbows and unicorns! So I turn my attention back to the real-world problems and tough decisions facing founders and entrepreneurs like me every single day. Talk about whiplash!

When it comes to business writing and “thought leadership,” it seems like no one wants to shoot straight with us. The truth is that there is SO MUCH that can and will go wrong when you’re trying to found, build, and scale a company. And as I’ve learned from my own experience and years of working with high-growth entrepreneurial companies, even the “fairy tale” companies have to fight and claw their way at times. There are always shit shows hidden behind the rainbow!

So why don’t we hear more examples of THOSE stories? Probably because admitting you were wrong, or could’ve done something better, or didn’t make a good decision – is hard. Once you’ve reached a certain level of success, it’s easy to forget those times when you almost didn’t make it. But I believe that’s the wrong way to look at business. As an audience, we need to hear the true stories from the trenches, not the ten-thousand-foot view from the mountain top! I’m a firm believer that most of us learn far more in our failures than in our successes. Hearing about the bumps, bruises, and battle scars along the way is not only more interesting…it’s way more helpful!

That’s why I’ve put together a new e-Book: Leveraging Talent to Grow & Scale Your Business. This book is specifically for founders and entrepreneurs (and the people around us who have to / get to work with us!) who are trying to scale their businesses and want some real advice from real entrepreneurs who’ve seen some shit. No one, and I mean NO ONE, “makes it” without overcoming some form of adversity and falling on their ass. And no one achieves the “unicorn” kind of growth without the right people in the right seats at the right time. This e-book gives you a brief peek behind the curtain.

The truth of the matter is that while you’re not going to make it “overnight,” there are steps you can take NOW to improve your prospects for the long haul. Download Leveraging Talent today for insights from my experience at HireBetter and Bee Cave Capital, helping entrepreneurs get more out of their business by growing and scaling.

By sharing the unpolished stories from “rocket ship” companies like Tecovas, CeCe’s Veggie Noodle and others, I hope that I can help put this notion of “overnight success” to bed…right next to that stack of unfinished business books on my nightstand.
